Why a distance learning section?
This is a distance learning section (also called e-learning) addressed to volunteers and members of Associazione Ascolta e Vivi and to everyone interested in the theme of deafness, its diagnosis and therapy.
Training is an activity of primary importance among the actions promoted by our Association: we have carried on training activities since 1999 both abroad, addressed to the local personnel of our missions in Africa, Asia, East Europe and South America, and in Italy.
The Courses
The courses presented here are about the “Diagnosis and therapy of deafness” and have been updated in 2005.
The courses are three, realised according to different levels of deepening. This to allow the access to this contents to people without specific knowledge as well as to professionals willing to refresh their know how.
1. The prosthesis rehabilitative therapy of deafness
by Luca Del Bo and Enrico Fagnani
Notes of anatomy, physiology and pathology of auditory system, basic concepts of auditory prosthesis, models of auditory prosthesis, the technology and realising modalities of prosthesis, choice and regulation of auditory prosthesis, the taking of the auricular print.
2. Infantile deafness and audiometric techniques of deafness diagnosis
by Eliana Filipponi and Chiara Amadeo
The diffusion and the causes of deafness, kinds of infantile deafness, prevention of deafness, diagnosis, consequences of infantile deafness, prosthesis therapy and cochlear implant, tonal vocal audiometry, evocated potentials and otoemissions, infantile and prosthetic audiometry.
3. The approach to a person with hearing problems and logopaedic rehabilitation

The relation man - sound, word perception, what does not hear mean, child’s deafness, the acquisition of verbal language, how can we notice if our baby has some hearing problems, classification of deafness, deafness in adult, deafness of elderly person, the logopaedics or orthophony, how speak with a person who has hearing problems, infantile deafness: AMBO test, the logopaedic therapy in baby with auditory problems, logopaedic therapy in adult with prosthesis, logopaedic therapy in elderly person with hearing problems.
We suggest you to follow the courses in their logical order (1,2,3) since they present progressive levels of deepening.
